Basketball Game Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes

The Clear Creek Golddiggers will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, Clear Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Belleview Christian.

Despite the defeat, Clear Creek got top-tier performance from Zephyrus Schuessler, who posted 19 points and seven steals. The match was Schuessler's third in a row with at least ten points. Blake Weichel was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Bishop Machebeuf had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bison as they made off with a 60-37 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Buffaloes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bison are ranked 32nd).

Bishop Machebeuf pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Clear Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Clear Creek was taken down by Bishop Machebeuf 84-45 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Clear Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
