Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Bison vs. Valley View Eagles

For the second straight game, Liberty will face off against Valley View. The Bison will host the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Liberty is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Valley View get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Logan Paad looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Liberty is 2-1 when Paad allows two or fewer hits, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Liberty let Riley Vogt and Ian Slater run wild. Vogt scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Slater scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Vogt a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Alexander Arteaga, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Liberty's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Valley View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
