Recap: Southwind Jaguars vs. Collierville Dragons
The Southwind Jaguars lost against the Collierville Dragons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Southwind was beaten by Collierville 71-41. It was the first time this season that Southwind let down their fans at home.
Southwind's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camille Sanders, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tashawn Hubbard, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Southwind's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Collierville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Southwind won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Freedom Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Freedom Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Southwind is ranked 188th). Collierville is on the road again on Thursday and play against Rossville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Rossville Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
