Baseball Recap: Malcolm Beats Wayne for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Malcolm walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wayne Blue Devils on Monday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Clippers as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Mason Wisnieski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Wisnieski wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Tiedeman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Tiedeman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Malcolm hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Malcolm's win bumped their record up to 26-2. As for Wayne, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-10.

Malcolm does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wayne, they will square off against Adams Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 3.8, the Patriots 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
