Volleyball Recap: St. Edward Has No Trouble Against Avon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Ignatius, St. Edward was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on Avon with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-6, 25-12.

Maksim Arutyunov paced St. Edward's offense, picking up six kills. Arutyunov got some help from Xavier Marflak and his 16 assists. Arutyunov was also solid from the service line: he led the team with 14 aces.

St. Edward now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Avon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, St. Edward will welcome Hilliard Davidson at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Avon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Garfield Heights on the 21st.
