Football Recap: Stafford Finds Playoff Glory Versus Wheatley

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Stafford walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 49-7 win over the Wheatley Wildcats. That looming 49-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stafford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Seales, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two scores, and also rushed for 32 yards. Seales has become a key player for the Spartans: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Stafford, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Seales, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Stafford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points over those games. As for Wheatley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

As of now, neither Stafford nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
