Baseball Game Preview: Colton Yellowjackets vs. Carter Lions

Colton is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Carter an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Colton Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carter Lions at 3:45 p.m. The matchup will give Colton their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.

Colton might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-3 to Estancia, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Steven Aguayo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Colton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Damian Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Carter came up short against Rialto on Monday and fell 6-1.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Colton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Colton beat Carter 12-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Colton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
