Basketball Game Preview: Shekinah Christian Flames vs. Northside Christian Lions

The Shekinah Christian Flames will head out to challenge the Northside Christian Lions at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Saturday, Shekinah Christian didn't have too much trouble with Delaware Christian as they won 42-28. Given the Flames' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Eagles are ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northside Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Whitehall-Yearling by a score of 60-53. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

Shekinah Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Northside Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Shekinah Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Northside Christian when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shekinah Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
