Volleyball Recap: Heritage Christian Takes a Loss

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Maranatha Minutemen. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Minutemen from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 23-25, 25-18.

Leading Maranatha to victory were Blake O'Brien and Zach Shin. O'Brien had nine digs and two aces, while Shin had six digs and two aces. What's more, Shin racked up 12 assists, the most he's had over his last seven games. Henric Mcbryde also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Maranatha, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Coming up, Heritage Christian will head out to square off against Whittier Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian is facing Whittier Christian at the right time seeing as Whittier Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Maranatha, they will welcome Valley Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
