Volleyball Recap: Cross County's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cross County waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Dorchester Longhorns by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Cross County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15.

Sydney Hengelfelt paced Cross County's offense, picking up nine kills. Hengelfelt got some help from Eden Peterson and her 16 assists. Cortina Donnelly and Ella Cramer kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Dorchester lost, don't look at Savannah June. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and 11 assists.

Cross County's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Dorchester, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Cross County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Twin River on the 9th. As for Dorchester, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Parkview Christian on the 13th.
