Volleyball Recap: Glenbrook South's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of five wins, Glenbrook South's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Maine South Hawks by a score of 2-1. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Glenbrook South actually scored more points across those three sets (60-59), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 9-25, 25-21, 25-14.

Ryann Knuth paced Glenbrook South's offense, picking up seven kills. Knuth were helped by Annie Rosinski and Maddie Hermann, who contributed eight assists each. Charlotte Kozak controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Glenbrook South's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Maine South, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Glenbrook South has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lyons on the 3rd. As for Maine South, they will square off against New Trier at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
