Volleyball Recap: Munster Takes a Loss

After flying high against Crown Point last Tuesday, Munster came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Lake Central Indians on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

Munster started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15.

AJ Horin paced Munster's offense, picking up 14 kills. Horin got some help from Paul Harkenrider and his 36 assists. Finally, Horin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nico Piunti, who had six digs and three aces.

Munster's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lake Central, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Munster wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Andrean on the 3rd. As for Lake Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Portage on the 3rd.
