Basketball Recap: Reed Comes Up Short

Reed lost against Spanish Springs back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Reed Raiders were dealt a 67-38 loss at the hands of the Spanish Springs Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Cougars are ranked sixth).

Reed has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Reed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-56 defeat against Galena on the 4th. As for Spanish Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-43 win against McQueen on the 4th.
