Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Road Victories for Northome/Kelliher

Northome/Kelliher had won ten straight road games dating back to last season and Kate Thayer did her part to make it 11 on Tuesday. The Mustangs took their contest with ease, bagging a 107-14 win over the Red Lake Warriors with plenty of help from Thayer, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 steals. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points.

Kylee Binkley was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 34 times she's played.

Northome/Kelliher's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Red Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Northome/Kelliher and Polk County West [Climax/Fisher] will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Lake, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harding/Humboldt/Open World Learning at 10:00 a.m. on the 29th.
