Softball Recap: Oakmont Vikings vs. Placer Hillmen
Oakmont can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They blew past the Placer Hillmen 14-2. Winning may never get old, but Oakmont sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Emilee Monell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Monell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Monell was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Oakmont got a massive performance out of Addison Turner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chloe Gomes, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, a run, and a double.
Oakmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for Placer, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
