Basketball Recap: Paw Paw Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Paw Paw's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-48 win over the Bishop Walsh Spartans. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in West Virginia, while the Spartans are ranked 297th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Paw Paw's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Bishop Walsh, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Paw Paw has already played their next game, a 66-44 defeat against Penns Manor on the 25th. Bishop Walsh has also already played their next match (against Allegany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
