Fort Thomas has no trouble against Safford

Recap: Fort Thomas Apaches vs. Safford Bulldogs

After losing to the Safford Bulldogs the last time they met, the Fort Thomas Apaches decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fort Thomas took down Safford 47-33 on Saturday. Given Fort Thomas' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Safford is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tyesha Wilson was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with five steals. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Makayla Chapman was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Fort Thomas has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Safford, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Fort Thomas and Holbrook will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Holbrook has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Safford, they will head out on the road to face off against Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Amphitheater's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Safford has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
