Volleyball Recap: South Allegheny Starts Season with Victory at Home

South Allegheny gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the West Mifflin Titans with a sharp 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Gladiators sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

South Allegheny never let West Mifflin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-22, 25-18.

Regan Mcbeth paced South Allegheny's offense, picking up 11 kills. Mcbeth got some help from Ava Luft and her 24 assists. Ally Chizmar controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Allegheny will challenge Belle Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Mifflin, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on East Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
