Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Mater Dei entered their tilt with Santa Margarita on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Eagles 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Monarchs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Mater Dei was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 25-19.

Layli Ostovar paced Mater Dei's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ostovar got some help from Sam Capinpin and her 14 assists. Lizzy Robinson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mater Dei's victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Santa Margarita, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mater Dei will square off against rival JSerra Catholic at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Santa Margarita is set to face off against their familiar foe Orange Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
