Baseball Recap: Bishop Moore Beats Pasco for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Bishop Moore extended their postseason success on Monday against Pasco. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pirates a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Drew Kunz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kai Lwin and Jesiah Woodside did most of the damage at the plate: Lwin went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Woodside went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those five RBI gave Lwin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bishop Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasco only posted an OBP of .143.

The victory (which was Bishop Moore's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pasco, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-8 record.

Bishop Moore will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
