Softball Recap: Meyersdale Wins Going Away Against Forbes Road

Meyersdale got themselves on the board against Forbes Road on Wednesday, but Forbes Road never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Forbes Road. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with Forbes Road recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Madison Berkley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ella Deal was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Graci Reese, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Meyersdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forbes Road only posted a batting average of .222.

Meyersdale's record now sits at 10-6. As for Forbes Road, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Meyersdale will welcome Forest Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forbes Road, they will face off against Southern Fulton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forbes Road's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
