Recap: Alamance Christian Warriors vs. Gospel Light Christian
This season hasn't been kind to the Alamance Christian Warriors, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were beaten by Gospel Light Christian 65-20 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alamance Christian in their matchups with Gospel Light Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Leading Gospel Light Christian to victory were Noelle Nelson and Brooklyn Miller. Nelson scored 17 points along with nine steals, while Miller scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Nelson scored 15 or more points. Maggie Jo Church was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 15 rebounds and seven blocks.
Alamance Christian bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gospel Light Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alamance Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberty Preparatory Christian at 5:45 p.m. Liberty Preparatory Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
