Baseball Recap: Cole Cougars vs. Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins
Cole had lost eight straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-18 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Cougars haven't been shut out since back in February.
Cole saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Zinnante, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double was Zinnante's first of the season.
As for Great Hearts Northern Oaks, the victory got them back to even at 10-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 21st.
On Great Hearts Northern Oaks' side, not much got past Nicholas Franzese, who gave up just six hits to keep Cole off the board. Franzese also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Griffins are 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Santiago Garcia was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
As of now, neither Cole nor Great Hearts Northern Oaks have any future games scheduled.
