Baseball Recap: Milken Finds Playoff Glory Versus Victor Valley

It's playoff time, and Milken had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits by a score of 7-4 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Alex Rosoff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Schwartz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Milken pushed their record up to 17-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Victor Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Milken will square off against Garden Grove at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.8, the Argonauts 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Victor Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
