Volleyball Recap: Lucerne Valley Comes Up Short

Lucerne Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the University Prep Jaguars. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.

Amaya Kelly paced Lucerne Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Kelly got some help from Brianna Torres and her six assists. Kelly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lucerne Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for University Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Lucerne Valley will face off against Joshua Springs Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for University Prep, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Mountain View on the 20th.
