Softball Game Preview: Graves County Eagles vs. Marshall County Marshals

Graves County is 1-9 against Marshall County since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Marshals at 5:30 p.m. Graves County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Graves County made easy work of Murray and carried off a 16-3 victory. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Bailey was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Anna Taylor also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Marshall County suffered their closest loss since March 23rd on Saturday. They fell just short of Tecumseh by a score of 4-2.

Graves County's win bumped their record up to 18-6-1. As for Marshall County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Graves County skirted past Marshall County 8-6 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
