Basketball Recap: L'Anse Comes Up Short

L'Anse fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Dollar Bay on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dollar Bay Bays. The Purple Hornets have struggled against the Bays recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, L'Anse still got an impressive performance from Sam Lee, who went 11 for 26 en route to 36 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Lee a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodrigo Cotta, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Liam Tourtillott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dollar Bay, dropping a double-double with 41 points and 11 boards. Baron Colbert was another key player, going 5 for 10 to rack up 14 points.

L'Anse's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dollar Bay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
