Leander came out on top against Chaparral on Friday thanks in part to Mason Montgomery's efforts. Montgomery rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 136 yards and one TD while completing 73.3% of his passes. The performance also marked the most passer rating (123.2) he has had since back in September of 2024.

Montgomery and Leander will face off against Lake Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery will face off against Maverik Maddux, the Broncos' star signal caller.
