Football Recap: Apache Junction Comes Up Short

Apache Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 34-6 defeat at the hands of the ALA - Ironwood Warriors.

Gavin Mozingo threw for 53 yards on four of 13 attempts. Michael Osborn was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Macale Hoffman rushed for 55 yards.

It was another big night for Shawn Hinchcliff, who rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries for ALA - Ironwood. With that strong performance, Hinchcliff is now averaging an impressive 108.8 rushing yards per game. Kash Castaneda was another key player, rushing for 39 yards.

Apache Junction's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for ALA - Ironwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Apache Junction has already played their next contest, a 57-0 defeat against Show Low on the 26th. As for ALA - Ironwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 43-17 loss against Gilbert Christian on the 26th.
