Basketball Recap: Jefferson Falls Short of Blake in the Playoffs

Jefferson and Blake squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Jefferson had to settle for second. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blake Yellow Jackets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-36 back in January.

Despite the loss, Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Damaria Pitcher posted 16 points. The contest was Pitcher's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amaris Dominguez, who had eight points.

The defeat snapped Jefferson's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record. As for Blake, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blake has already played their next match (against Chamberlain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
