Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis de Sales Knights vs. Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks

The St. Francis de Sales Knights and the Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks will round out the year against one another at at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

St. Francis de Sales is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Defiance just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maumee Valley Country Day). They put the hurt on Cardinal Stritch with a sharp 81-57 win on Saturday. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

St. Francis de Sales better focus on containing Jeybrehm Price and Keeran Stokes as the pair were huge in Maumee Valley Country Day's win. Price went 13 of 18 en route to 31 points and eight rebounds, while Stokes went 11 of 16 on his way to 23 points along with five assists and five steals. The game was Stokes' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Wilson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with five assists and five boards.

Maumee Valley Country Day was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Maumee Valley Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for St. Francis de Sales, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
