After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moundridge, Marion was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They slipped by the Classical Saints 55-54. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their 17-point performance the contest before.

Marion had a senior duo take command as Kenna Wesner went 7-for-10 en route to 16 points along with five assists and five boards and Taryn Kraus went 8-for-17 on her way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kraus has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kate Wessel, who posted five points and three steals.

Marion was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Classical lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maggie Neill, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. She has become a key player for Classical: the team is 8-4 when she posts at least eight boards, but 2-3 otherwise. Elizabeth Garcia was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 11 points.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Classical, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Marion and Classical will both be playing Sedgwick the next time they take the court. Classical will head out to face Sedgwick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marion will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
