Baseball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Vikings vs. St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans

Tri-Valley is 1-6 against St. Joseph-Ogden since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Tri-Valley's offense. They fell just short of St. Bede by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph-Ogden entered their tilt with Galesburg on Saturday with 22 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 23. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Silver Streaks. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly four runs.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, they pushed their record up to 29-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home.

Tri-Valley suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to St. Joseph-Ogden when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
