Softball Recap: Overton Has No Trouble Against Franklin

Overton won the last time they faced Franklin and things went their way on Wednesday too. Overton blew past Franklin 13-3. With that win, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Overton got a massive performance out of Jailyn Norman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Norman a new career-high. Trista Norris was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin only posted an OBP of .364.

The victory made it two in a row for Overton and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overton will head out to take on Cane Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin, they will square off against Nolensville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
