Washington dropped down to 6-5 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Hillsboro Hawks by a score of 6-5. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

As for Hillsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

For Hillsboro's part, the team relied heavily on Hunter Grewe, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Cody Reese was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Coming up, Washington is taking a road trip to take on Fort Zumwalt East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillsboro, they will welcome Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
