Basketball Recap: Aqqaluk Takes a Loss

After flying high against McQueen last Thursday, Aqqaluk came back down to earth. The Aqqaluk Bears took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Unalakleet Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Wolfpack are ranked fourth).

Aqqaluk's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Unalakleet, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Aqqaluk has already played their next match, a 49-34 defeat against Davis-Romoth on the 15th. As for Unalakleet, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-17 victory against McQueen on the 15th.
