Soccer Game Preview: Venice vs. Palisades

Venice is 0-9-1 against Palisades since December of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Venice Gondoliers will challenge the Palisades Dolphins. Venice is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Venice is headed into the game having not lost since December 23 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Fairfax onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. Given the Gondoliers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Lions are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Venice's one-goal win came courtesy of Billy Quinn, who's now up to 18 this season.

Meanwhile, Palisades hasn't lost a match since December 13, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They blew past Westchester 5-0. Considering the Dolphins have won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Palisades is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up seven goals over those 15 games. As for Venice, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1.
