Softball Game Preview: Durango Trailblazers vs. Rancho Rams

Durango is 1-7 against Rancho since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trailblazers will be playing at home against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. Durango has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Durango couldn't beat Legacy on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Trailblazers came up short against the Longhorns, falling 23-6. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Durango saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexia Carey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Rancho narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Clark 2-1. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Annalise Stout, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Rancho's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Durango, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Durango has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .574. However, it's not like Rancho struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
