Universal hadn't done well against MCC recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Stars walked away with a 57-48 victory over the Crescents. This was a revenge game for the Stars: when they faced off against the Crescents two weeks ago, they had to take a 66-65 loss.

MCC lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Luqmaan Khalique, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalid Khan, who posted 13 points.

The win made it two in a row for Universal and bumps their season record up to 12-10. As for MCC, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-8.

Universal has already played their next matchup, a 68-44 victory against Illinois Lutheran on the 17th. As for MCC, they will head out on the road to face off against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crescents will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.04 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
