Basketball Recap: Deptford Comes Up Short

Deptford lost against Palmyra back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Deptford Spartans fell just short of the Palmyra Panthers by a score of 34-31. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Panthers are ranked 139th).

Deptford's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Palmyra, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Deptford will take on Highland Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmyra, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers face off against the Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
