Basketball Recap: Regents Academy Find Success

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Regents Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm 39-36. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiley Normandin, who posted 11 points and seven blocks. Normandin is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Emma Fowler was another key player, putting up ten points.

Regents Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Regents Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Athens Christian Preparatory Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
