Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

If Oak Grove was riding high fresh off their 93-47 takedown of Montgomery Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oak Grove Grizzlies took a 77-59 bruising from the Central Davidson Spartans on Tuesday. The Grizzlies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 62-53.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Grove lost, don't look at Max Hurt. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-12 en route to 27 points and six rebounds. Those 27 points gave Hurt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Loucas Shoaf, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Central Davidson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.

Oak Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Davidson, they will head out to take on Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
