Frontenac had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Galena Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Frontenac's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Galena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Frontenac will square off against rival St. Mary's-Colgan on Saturday. Meanwhile, Galena is set to challenge their familiar foe Girard on Monday.
