Baseball Recap: Verbena Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Verbena can now relate to. They came up short against the Billingsley Bears on Thursday, falling 9-0. Considering the last time the Red Devils couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

This is the second loss in a row for Verbena and nudges their season record down to 12-13. As for Billingsley, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat Verbena by a score of 17-2 later that day.
