Phalen Leadership Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Drelan Vaden, who went 6 of 9 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Vaden's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brenton Smith, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of New Castle.
