Bishop Eustace Prep and Pennsauken played the most contested game in West Jersey - Royal this week, with Bishop Eustace Prep eventually emerging with a 7-6 victory. Tim McConnell threw for 31 yards and ran for 138 yards during the win.
Cumberland fell to Schalick 42-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
McConnell provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Crusaders beat the Indians.
McConnell was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 138 yards on 24 carries as Bishop Eustace Prep topped Woodrow Wilson. Teammate Roy Hansen added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Khalil Williams of the Panthers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,964. He has also thrown 29 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Daeshon Davis. The Woodrow Wilson star has 45 catches for 1,226 yards.
In 161 carries McConnell has accumulated 905 yard this year.
The Tigers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,779 from 8,072. The improvement was largely due to a 14-0 victory over Woodrow Wilson last week.
