Baseball Game Preview: Lee Ganders vs. Shepherd Pirates

The Lee Ganders will be taking part in a tournament against the Shepherd Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lee saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silsbee. The Ganders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Shepherd also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Anahuac by a score of 10-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Shepherd saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Scifres, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another was Marshall Reeves, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Lee's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Shepherd, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lee couldn't quite get it done against Shepherd when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 8-5. Can the Ganders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
