Basketball Recap: Sickles Skates Past Largo with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sickles had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 63-29 victory over the Largo Packers. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sickles found their leader in sophomore Chase Weismiller, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ov Nicholson, who posted six points and five steals.

Sickles smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Sickles has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Largo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Sickles will face off against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Lake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season. Largo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
