Basketball Game Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Piketon Redstreaks

Southeastern is 2-8 against Piketon since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Southeastern Panthers will challenge the Piketon Redstreaks at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Southeastern lost to Zane Trace on the road by a 57-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Pioneers are ranked 190th).

Meanwhile, Piketon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Zane Trace and fell 64-25. The Redstreaks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.

This is the second loss in a row for Southeastern and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Piketon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything came up roses for Southeastern against Piketon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southeastern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
