Softball Recap: Big Sandy Takes a Loss

Big Sandy lost against Hawkins on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Big Sandy Wildcats fell 7-2 to the Hawkins Hawks. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Big Sandy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Journie Plunkett, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Maddie Freeman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hawkins, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7-1.

Looking ahead, Big Sandy is taking a road trip to face off against Martins Mill at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Hawkins, they will look to defend their home field on March 18th against Alba-Golden at 6:00 p.m.
